Happy New Year, Y'all

I love cooking with cast iron, and even though it's heavy, to me it's just downright necessary. What isn't necessary is this newly acquired set of cast iron birds. I found them at a half-price sale.
Cool, huh. Oh, they're talented, too...
They get around.
And they're quite inquisitive...



And they've just formed a quartet.  Here they are singing I'll Fly Away!  (Not bad for 1/2 priced birds.)

    I LOVE the birds. I collect cast iron things in my kitchen, those would be great. Now I know I can look for them.

    Who cares if those little birdies aren't necessary? They're fun! I would have had a hard time resisting them too -- especially at half price.

    I would not have minded paying FULL price for that flock. They are adorable. I love birds and I would not have passed these up. They needed a home!

    I love cast iron! You can't bake cornbread without, can you? The cast iron chicks are adorable.
