What's Been Afoot in August


 Hello from the hazy hills of Tennessee.
 While the butterflies danced on the zinnias..
 Our yellow watermelons ripened, and a few were consumed under the cover of night, lol. We think it was a raccoon.

 I started this crocheted shawl.

 And managed to make a successful batch of sauerkraut. The first try ended in the composter. Sigh. All is not perfect in the foothills y'all.
I finished the shawl just yesterday and blocked it overnight.
Our summer garden is just about finished. These cayenne peppers are just a fraction of what we've gathered and strung up to dry. While some other plants failed, they were abundant. I think that pretty much sums up what our summer has been like - heat in abundance.

    You live in my most favorite part of the US, where I like to visit as much as possible. Must admit I am a bit envious, lol. Been enjoying your posts for some time now and like to here about your wonderful garden.

    Oh my - that is a beautiful shawl! And those hot red peppers, yowza...just full of health.
    I bet that was one happy and full raccoon :)
    I'm really enjoying seeing lots of butterflies this summer here, too.

    I know I have said it before, but oh my how I love my visits here! It is always something wonderful going on in the foothills.:o)

    What a beautiful shawl, just lovely! Your cayenne peppers are beautiful too! I am one who loves to add a little spice to many of my meals and a pinch of cayenne does it perfectly.:o)

I just love your shawl, the pattern and the colors. Would you mind sharing what color yarn you used? I found the pattern on Ravelry but none compare to yours. Enjoy it! Our evenings are already cooling down and the shawl would certainly get alot of use.
