Checking in - nothing like a winter storm to bring bloggers out of hiding, eh?
These photos are from the last snowstorm a few weeks ago. Goodman and I have had a few rounds of fever, congestion and coughing since I took these pictures, but I think we're seeing the light at the end of that tunnel finally.
The wind was blowing so hard the day I took this one Mr. Cardinal was getting roughed up pretty good. We have about two inches of snow from the current storm...
Stay warm, y'all!
Update with new photos: We got a total of eight inches of snow from what started yesterday, 2/12/14. Love it...
The pasture is a white blanket.
I didn't walk all the way to the fence line - I used the zoom for this pic. Once I got to the barn I fed the chickens and headed back to the house, lol.
Your snow photos and the wind-buffeted cardinal are all lovely, Toni. Hope you're on the mend....and that the light at the end of the tunnel isn't an oncoming train. :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha, I hope so too, Linda. It looks like that light might be the Snowball Express outside right now. We have 5 inches of beautiful snow and still coming down. That's a lot for us. Have a great evening.
ReplyDeleteHey, send some of that snow to California! We are having a drought.
ReplyDeleteFeel better, too.
There's more than enough to go around, Kay. We have 7 inches of new snowfall since yesterday.
DeleteThe photos are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWow, I have never lived in a snowy climate before so I am amazed every time I see some photos! I am sure Mr. Cardinal made a beautiful and stark contrast against the white landscape.
ReplyDeleteIt really is beautiful, but it gets old quickly with driving conditions being stressful. I can't get my car out of the driveway.
DeleteKeep Warm. I am glad you all are feeling better. I can hardly believe the South has been hit with snow this year. We've had our worst Winter even.. very sad face. Hugs Judy
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy! It's been a rough winter for sure. We have eight inches of snow now and still snowing.....
DeleteDon't know how you did the falling snow effect in the first photo-but it had me going for a moment. Love the cardinal. Stay warm, lemon honey tea and rest. Get better soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine, thanks! I just had a cup of mullein tea (to help break up the congestion) with honey and lemon. About the snow picture - google did that with a snow pic I had posted here last night and sent me a notice, so I put it in the blog post. I have no idea how to do it, otherwise.
DeleteLove your photos! I'm sorry y'all have been under the weather but glad to know you're on the mend. We got snow! Not predicted. Four inches so far. That silly storm took a turn straight for us.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of mullein tea. I'll have to look in to that.
Enjoy your snow my friend. Wishing you a blessed weekend!
Thank you, LesleyAnn. Enjoy your snow. I hope your power stays on this time. :)
ReplyDeleteWe have 8 inches and starting to see blue skies so I think it's nearly done for us.
Fresh snow is always so lovely when it first falls-but the nice thing about living rural-we can usually stay put-lol stay warm all of you-hugs from the ozarks-we are finally getting a warm up here so mud everywhere as the snow and ice melts away
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you're getting a warm-up, Kathy.
DeleteHappy Valentine´s day!
ReplyDeleteAmazing!!! I can't even imagine how cold it must be there. I wish it snowed someday here (although I know I wouldn't get out from under the blankets)! I'm so envious right now. haha
ReplyDeleteTake care of that nasty cold and enjoy the white scenery. :-)
So pretty! I don't think I ever get tired of seeing the beautiful snow :) I am so sorry to hear you are not feeling well :( I hope you are back to your healthy self very soon! Stay safe and warm and Happy Valentine's Day! Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteYour snow photos are magnificent. Looks like you had a huge snow. I sure hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteHave a very Happy Valentine's Day.
I reckon I had enough to the pretty snow this year. LOL I hope you and your DH is feeling much better soon. Hugs Judy

ReplyDeleteDo you think this snow made up for other winters of very little? I remember you saying you didn't get much... It sounds and looks like you have much enjoyment from its beauty.
I need to add one of those Pinterest widgets to my sidebar! Now I need to learn HOW to do it ;) Spring is coming, Toni :) Many blessings!
ReplyDeleteYour blog name caught my eye on TexWis's blog. My husband and I visited Cade's Cove on our honeymoon 21 years ago. Your photos sure are pretty. I live in GA and we have had snow this winter too. Glad to hear you both are feeling better. I'm signing on to follow. Mildred
ReplyDeleteThose are some beautiful photos!

Hi, Toni,
ReplyDeleteI miss your posts and am stopping by to wish you a wonderful weekend and Lord's Day! I hope you are well and thriving in the Lord :) My husband and son are spreading chicken manure fertilizer on the fields all today and it S.M.E.L.L.S out there! The rains should come tomorrow night and wash that stuff deep into the grasses and soil! Hopefully :) Blessings!
