I hope to enroll in an online photography course soon to remedy my ignorance with the new camera, but in the meantime I'm keeping it on Auto. ;)
Have I ever mentioned that I cook a lot? You should see my poor stove. It's black and white and scratched allover, but I really don't mind. Here's one of Goodman's favorite breakfasts.
I crocheted this sparkly scarf recently from what I thought was acrylic yarn, but after I got in the swing of stitching I began to itch and break out. It seems only 10% wool will not be tolerable, either, so...
It's hello cotton, linen and acrylic for me.
This little green guy is one of three little cuties from Susan B. Anderson's String Along Toys pattern. More on them next time. (He's thinkin' about something...)
To celebrate my tenth blogaversary I'm giving away this skein of fingering weight, kettle dyed Malabrigo Sock yarn. It's 100% merino wool, 400 yards so there's enough for a fine pair of socks or whatever you'd like to make with it. In the event the random number generator picks a non-knitting entity...
I'll be happy to substitute a couple of bars of my homemade soap if you like.
All you have to do is leave a comment to be entered. I'll contact the winner on Friday January 27, 2017. Have a great week, y'all!Edited 1/27/17 to add: Random number generator chose JES. Congratulations, I've sent you an email.
Thanks to everyone who left a comment on this post. I always enjoy hearing them.
Congratulations on your 10th blogaversary, Toni! Have to say, that your eggs certainly turned out prettier than mine. There's some pretty acrylic yarns out there, too. And the silver lining is that they usually cost a lot less than wool. Good luck with photography course!

Jane
Thank you, Jane! Goodman likes his eggs over medium with no straying from the program so I set the burner to just below medium and hope for the best. I've been giving the Brava Worsted yarns at Knitpicks some scrutiny and hope to order soon. I hear they are high quality at a poor man's price.
DeleteLove your bird photos... Even without the online classes! Love the yarn too. A friend is (re) teaching me to knit so yarn is always catching my eye these days! Lol
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Marcie! You will love knitting. After you get the hang of it it will seem like free therapy for the soul, and you'll have something wonderful to wear or give away when you're done. Did I mention I love knitting? lol
DeleteHappy 10th blogaversary! I think your camera takes awesome pictures on auto. Love the cardinal!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Betty! It's great on auto....sometimes, lol.
DeleteCongratulations on your blogadversary. Your soap looks wonderful. Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway. (Shirparks@gmail.com)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shirley. I've made soap for about 20 years and still love the process.
DeleteCongrats on your anniversary! I love seeing birds especially in winter. The yarn is lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi Angela! The birds keep the winter from becoming too dreary.
DeleteToni, you did very well on those bird shots! I especially like the cardinal. You're going to get along nicely with that new camera. Congratulations on 10 years of blogging! Well done. You know, your wool allergy might be the result of handling wool over a long period of time. This may sound unrelated, but Doug developed an allergy to iceburg lettuce after working in a grocery store produce department. His arms would break out in a rash; and, if he eats it even now, he gets a sore throat. Go figure. No need to enter me in the drawing, my friend. There are so many others who would appreciate the yarn and the soaps more.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda! Sorry to hear your husband is allergic to lettuce, that's too bad as I love a good salad with lettuce.
DeleteIt's just an allergy to iceburg lettuce, Toni. He does fine with romaine, leaf lettuce, Boston, or spinach. We love salads, too. He just has to be careful of the ones made with iceburg lettuce.
DeleteCongratulations on your anniversary! I love the sock yarn, I know that it will make a soft and colorful pair of socks for someone, hopefully me :)Looks like you are taking fantastic pictures of the feathered friends, almost looks like they are posing for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nancy! The birds had no idea they were in the cross-hairs of my camera, lol.
DeleteHello, happy 10th blog anniversary! I like the cute green critter. The cardinal and woodies are great feeder birds. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Eileen! I really love seeing the birds with bright colors. We have bluebirds, but they are too wary for me to get a good shot. I need a remote, I think.
DeleteCongratulations, ten years is quite an accomplishment. I also enjoy cooking and think of Tasha Tudor's home as I look at mine, well worn, used, and loved. We love your Foothills and Smokies. We shall have our first visit in one week since the fire.
ReplyDeleteHi Pam! I love all things Tasha Tudor, too. Hope you have a great time in the mountains. :)
DeleteCelebrations on your 10 blogiversary!!! You've captured some lovely photos of the cardinal and woodpecker!!! And the yummy yarn is such a lovely color of blue shades!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tessa! The yarn is really soft and has shades of blue and greens, so pretty.
DeleteYour birds photos are still wonderful to me! And we do a LOT of cooking around here too. We had the exact breakfast on Sunday! That is our go-to meal! :) Enter me in please in honor of your TERRIFIC 10! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, JES! I enjoy cooking most times, but occasionally breakfast has me stumped, but the meat was leftover from another meal so easy as I just steamed it. I love the yarn, but it's fun to give it away, too.
DeleteHappy Blogaversary! That's fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Emily! It doesn't seem that long really.
DeleteHappy Blogversary!!! I love the little green guy and the bird photos! What beautiful yarn and in my favorite colors! :)
ReplyDeletehappy happy 10 years of blogging!! I didn't know you'd been blogging that long! Wish I had been reading you way back then, too! Hope you have fun with the photography course. I've tried to learn but my brain can't remember what to set my camera on. Auto is my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy 10 years! Life happens, and I hardly ever blog anymore, but it's been fun following you online through the years.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 10th blogging anniversary! i would love to win either the yarn or the soap! Nancy
ReplyDeleteWhoo hoo, I'm just in time! I love that yarn color! My husband is attempting to learn how to use our spinning wheel and is realize it's a bit harder than he thought, LOL. I'm so excited you got a new camera! I'm with you, I so want to learn how to use mine, but I'm stuck on auto for now. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteOh I love giveaways and have not entered in one in very long time-if I should win I will gift the yarn to a close friend who loves loves knitting socks.
ReplyDeleteI love to cook to-most always everything from scratch too-and my stove is so in need of complete scrub down-I need to take time to do that--have a good day and happy anniversary for blogging
Lovely yarn! I am devastated to think you can't use the wool! Could it be the finishing process or the dye?? I am north of you in the mountains and enjoy dropping in to see your world, too! We have snow! You??
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your blogversary! I'm late to the giveaway but nevertheless I'd like to thank you for sharing it with your readers. :-) Congratulations to the lucky winner too!
ReplyDeleteAnd, oh, I'd love to see that little green guy when it's finished. Hello there!
The cold spell is gone and we're having our normal winter weather now -thankfully. Don't forget to keep yourself warm and your stove working!
Your photos are splendid. You are doing a super job photographing with your camera. I sure would love to see the little green guy when it's finished. I enjoy visiting your blog.
ReplyDeleteI think your photos are pretty good. I really love those images of the cardinal and the woodpecker - they're lovely! Darn, I wish I had seen this post earlier, I would have joined in the give away. I love the yarn by Malabrigo!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful birds and froggy!
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this post ?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, LOVE the frog :)
Have fun with your new camera, my daughter is just finishing up a photography class.
Gorgeous birds and a sweet frog.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about an on-line photography class as well, haven't done anything about it yet :-)

You did a great job photographing the birds! They are so hard to get a clear picture of, when they're constantly moving!
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming by; I'm glad that you forage for greens, as well. You can't beat it for nutrition!
Love,
Marqueta
