Victorian Shawl

Howdy neighbors! Thanks so much for all the well wishes while I was out of commission for a bit. I'm all well now, but I seem to have developed spring fever already. For real, I can't wait to get outside and dig in the dirt! I'm planning on tryin' out some new seeds this year in the garden like these. They're Strawberry Popcorn seeds that yield tiny ears you can dry and place the whole ear in a bag to pop. I can't wait to try that!

I knitted this shawl as part of a knitalong in the ravelry group The Victorians. The pattern is here.

Eleven lace points on mine.
We took a lil trip with the grandgals to Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg, and I took this video of the jellyfish just for you 'cause it's so cool. (It was impossible to get a movie with anyone talking - they were so excited. ;)

The tunnel was pretty cool, too. There's just nothing like watching sharks swimming above your head....
'til next time...may your yarn flow smoothly and your needles fly. ;)

  1. Aww, jellyfishes are gross -but I had to watch your video anyway! We have a big aquarium here too and they also built that shark tunnel. It seems to be a popular way to enjoy the ocean creatures. Being there is thrilling! :-)

Your shawl turned out beautiful. Hope you get better soon and can wear it outside!

  2. what a beautiful shawl. I'm feeling the spring fever as well. It had been melting like crazy up here in South Dakota, but now it's snowing again. At least it looks pretty.

I have your little green doiley you sent me last year for St. Patrick's Day on my mantel this year!
    It's reminded me of you!
Hope your doing well...I see you've been very busy! The shawl is just beautiful and very vintage looking. Will you wear it?
    Be blessed,

  8. It took me a moment to puzzle out that seed packet photo; I was thinking pine cones somehow, and was intrigued.

I need to get back to our semi-local aquarium; thank you for the nudge!

  10. I enjoyed watching the jelly fish, so fragile. Do these ones have poison in them? The tunnel with sharks over head is cool. Glad you are feeling better. Have a nice weekend.
