Happy New Year, Y'all

I love cooking with cast iron, and even though it's heavy, to me it's just downright necessary. What isn't necessary is this newly acquired set of cast iron birds. I found them at a half-price sale.
Cool, huh. Oh, they're talented, too...
They get around.
And they're quite inquisitive...

And they've just formed a quartet.  Here they are singing I'll Fly Away!  (Not bad for 1/2 priced birds.)

Happy New Year to one and all!!
May your knitting needles fly, and may your blessings reach the sky. :)
(With Irish roots I just can’t help the prose sometimes.;)

  1. I LOVE the birds. I collect cast iron things in my kitchen, those would be great. Now I know I can look for them.

    Happy New Year

  2. Who cares if those little birdies aren't necessary? They're fun! I would have had a hard time resisting them too -- especially at half price.

  3. What cute birdies!! TWEET, TWEET, TWEET!!!!

And imagine that--how they love to move around and explore the world!! I wonder how they do that???

  4. Nice placing them, my sister cooks with cast iron, I use to have some, hope your New Years eve was fun.

  5. I love your little saying at the end of your post! It's perfect.
    Happy New Year to you!!!!

  6. Oooooh, I just LOVE your little birds!

  7. Happy New Year! (Picture me blowing into my party streamer) Tweet!

  8. I would not have minded paying FULL price for that flock. They are adorable. I love birds and I would not have passed these up. They needed a home!

  9. I love cast iron! You can't bake cornbread without, can you? The cast iron chicks are adorable.

I always look so forward to seeing what you've got posted in your blog. Thanks for taking time to post. I really enjoy it.
